About
“Shine is a Sussex based theatre group that today has 150 young performers on its books and has attracted attention not only for its high standards of performance but also for including disabled children in its ranks - and not just on a token basis.”
The Daily Telegraph
Shine Theatre Group started in 1997 with 3 members and now has over over 140 children between the ages of 5-19 years who participate in Dance, Drama and Singing.
We aim to produce fantastic shows for all to participate in and enjoy. All profits raised from our large shows will go to the Shine Theatre Trust who are a registered charity raising funds for a future home for Shine Theatre Group.
Shine Theatre Group also raises funds for the work and staffing of their group for smaller events like workshops and charity concerts.

We exist to offer ALL children the chance to experience music, drama and dance, and through performing, gain confidence and work to a professional standard.
We run a school of excellence in all fields of Singing, Dance and Drama. Many of our pupils have appeared in productions in London and Brighton. Nicola Bowman, who is one of our younger pupils, played Jane Banks in Mary Poppin’s West End for an 18 month run. Lucie Griffiths, one of our older ex pupils, is now playing Marian on BBC’s television series, Robin Hood. Many have participated in National Youth Music and Youth Music Projects around the country .
Our future goal is to be able to offer opportunities to more children and to this end we are looking for a larger, permanent home for Shine. From there, we can run a Performing Arts School of Excellence.
